Iranian FM Salehi wants all foreign troops out of Afghanistan

BERLIN (A.A) - December 5, 2011 - Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi wanted all foreign troops out of Afghanistan. Speaking at an international conference on Afghanistan in the German city of Bonn, Salehi said that all foreign troops should leave Afghanistan. Salehi criticized the ongoing talks between the Afghan government and the Washington administration over the establishment of U.S. bases in Afghanistan. The ISAF peace force could not facilitate peace and security in Afghanistan. The security in Afghanistan should be left to Afghan authorities, Salehi stressed. The presence of foreign military bases in Afghanistan after 2014, the year when foreign troops are scheduled to leave the country, will not make any contributions to the stability in Afghanistan, Salehi underlined. Foreign troops' attack on Afghan civilians must come to an end, Salehi also said.
