Iranian FM, Syria peace envoy hold phone talks

TEHRAN,Dec.22(MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and UN-Arab League Special Envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi have discussed the situation in Syria during a telephone conversation, reports said late on Friday. The two officials held talks about the latest developments regarding the Geneva 2 conference. During the conversation, Zarif emphasized the necessity of a political solution to the crisis and “Syrian-Syrian dialogue”.
