Iranian foreign Minister plans to visit Ufa on July 9, 10 - Iranian diplomatic source

VIENNA, July 6. /TASS/. Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif plans to visit Ufa on July 9 and 10, where the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held, an Iranian diplomatic source told TASS on Monday. "There are such plans," the source said. He confirmed that July 7 continued to be the deadline for hammering out a deal between Iran and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) . "The latest date is the morning hours of July 8, as things stand now," the source added. Earlier, it became known that a meeting of Russian and Iranian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Hassan Rouhani was scheduled at the summit in Ufa. "We are indeed preparing such [bilateral] meeting," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on July 2. The SCO summit will be held in Ufa on July 9 and 10, immediately after the meeting of the heads of state of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa). The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a permanent regional international association formally established on June 15, 2001, in Shanghai. It comprises Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan have an observer status, while Belarus, Turkey and Sri Lanka are "dialogue partners." At the summit in Dushanbe, India and Pakistan have applied for full membership in the organization. Read more
