Iranian official and Lebanese PM discuss war on Gaza

TEHRAN,July 28(MNA) - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam in Beirut on Saturday during which they exchanged views about Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip. Amir-Abdollahian said supporting the Palestinian resistance movement is part of Iran’s “principled policy”. The top Iranian diplomat highlighted the necessity of unity among all Muslims to counter the Zionist regime’s aggressions and threats. Israel has started an intensive attack on Gaza from air, land and sea. The death toll in the coastal strip has exceeded 1,150, with children and women as the main victims. The Iranian deputy foreign minister also praised Lebanese security forces for detaining elements involved in the terrorist operation against the Iranian embassy in Beirut last November in which 30 people including an Iranian diplomat were killed. Salam pointed to Iran’s important status in the region and thanked Iran for its efforts to help end the Zionist regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip. Amir-Abdollahian made a trip to Lebanon on Saturday to discuss the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip with Palestinian and Lebanese officials.
