Iranian Parliamentarian Delegation Off To Canada

Tehran, Oct 20, IRNA – An Iranian parliamentarian delegation left here for Canada Saturday morning. The delegation is to participate in the 127th general assembly meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The general assembly is to meet in Quebec as of October 28 for six days. IPU is an international organization established in 1889 which was, initially, for individual parliamentarians, but has since transformed into an international organization of the parliaments of sovereign states. The national parliaments of 162 countries are members of the IPU, and 10 regional parliamentary assemblies are associate members. The IPU has permanent observer status at the United Nations./end
