Iranian president asks academics to help administration resolve domestic issues

TEHRAN,July 21(MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani asked academics to help his administration resolve the issues facing the country. “Today, universities should identify the problems facing the society and country and enter the scene to resolve them,” Rouhani said during a meeting with a number of university professors in Tehran on Saturday evening. He also said that one of the duties of universities and scientific centers is to help the administration tackle the issue of stagflation, which has afflicted the country. He went on to say that the people should be aware of the fact that Iran will be able to remove all domestic and foreign obstacles through interaction and prudence. Elsewhere in his remarks, Rouhani pointed to the latest round of nuclear talks between Iran and the major powers, which ended on Saturday in Vienna, and said that he deems it necessary to thank Iran’s nuclear negotiating team for standing up to world powers and defending the country’s nuclear rights during the negotiations which lasted for nearly three weeks. “If the nuclear negotiating team knows that it has the backing of the people… it will continue its work more resolutely,” he said.
