Iranian president calls meeting with Mogherini constructive

Baku, Azerbaijan, July 28 By Fatih Karimov – Trend: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called his meeting with The EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini constructive. Rouhani wrote on his Facebook page on July 28, “Success in achieving a nuclear deal gave the international community a new hope that the global problems can be resolved by diplomacy.” He said, “We will be serious in implementation of the nuclear deal (achieved on July 14) because of the huge political investment made by all sides (Iran and P5+1) in the nuclear negotiations.” The visit of European Union's foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini to Tehran is focused on boosting trade relations with Iran, said Majid Takht Ravanchi, Iranian deputy foreign minister and member of the nuclear negotiation team. “Collaboration with European countries, as trading partners, is of importance to us. We are interested in collaborating with European countries in line with foreign trade policies of the Islamic Republic,” Iran’s ISNA news agency quoted Takht Ravanchi as saying July 28. The visit comes two weeks after the nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 (US, Russia, China, France, UK, and Germany) was concluded in Vienna. Mogherini held talks in Tehran with her Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and President Rouhani.
