Iranian Sunni Prayer Leader Urges Muslims To Unite Against ISIL

Tehran, June 19, IRNA - An Iranian Sunni Friday prayer leader condemned the inhuman killings of Iraqis by the Al-Qaeda offshoot group the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), urging world Muslims to unite against the terrorist groups. Gholam Heidar Garouqi, from the northeastern city of Birjand said: “All Muslims should fight against the ISIL terrorist group,” the English-language paper ˈIran Dailyˈ said in its Upside/Downside column on Thursday. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki vowed that security forces would confront the terrorists, calling Mosul seizure a ‘conspiracy’. The Iraqi premier also blamed Saudi Arabia and Qatar for the security crisis and growing terrorism in his country, denouncing Riyadh as a major supporter of global terrorism./end
