Iranian, Tajik FMs Discuss Issues Of Mutual Interest

Tehran, March 16, IRNA – Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met and conferred with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Aslov here on Saturday evening. According to Foreign Ministry Media Department, Zarif, in the meeting, referred to cultural commonalities between the two countries and called for development of bilateral relations in political, economic, and cultural fields. Zarif also said Iran is ready to cooperate with Tajikistan in security affairs, fighting against terrorism and radicalism as common threats. Tajik Foreign Minister Aslov conveyed warm greetings of Tajikistan President and people and congratulated on Iranˈs success in reaching primary agreements with Group 5+1 and stressed on Iranˈs right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Both foreign ministers discussed bilateral issues as well as developments in Central Asia and Afghanistan./end
