Iran's Larijani Meets Governor Of Maharashtra

New Delhi, February 25, IRNA – Visiting Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani Monday met with Governor of the Indian state of Maharashtra K. Shankranarayanan at the Governor House in Mumbai. “The meeting with the Iranian official was fruitful. India Iran enjoys excellent relations in all sectors.The cordial meetings will further boost our relations in all the fields including education, business and trade,” said Shankaranarayanan talking to reporters after the meeting. On his part, Larijani, while terming the meeting as “fruitful, said: “We discussed political and economic issues. Iran and India have deep rooted cultural relations and are now seeking to further expand relations in the filed of education, economic and trade.ˈ Larijani arrived in Mumbai on Sunday evening on a five-day official visit on the invitation of India’s Parliament (Lok Sabha) speaker Meera Kumar. Prior to his depart for New Delhi on Tuesday, the Iranian Majlis speaker will have a meeting with Indian economic activists in Mumbai. In New Delhi, Larijani is to have meetings with Indian high-ranking officials. Beside having meeting with Meera Kumar, Larijani will have meetings with the prime minister, president, vice-president, foreign minister, national security advisor and foreign minister of India. He will also visit to Delhi University to attend a seminar hosted by the Persian Department of the university in the memory of Ameer Hussain Abidi, the former head of the Persian Department of the university./end
