Iran's New Envoy, Kyrgyz FM Meet In Bishkek

Dushanbe, Dec. 1, IRNA—Iran's new Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Ali Najafi, on Friday submitted a copy of his credentials to Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, Erlan Abdyldaev, as they discussed expansion of ties between their countries. Abdyldaev told Iranian diplomat that the relations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan are at the 'satisfactory' level his country. 'We have an extensive agenda for boosting ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran,' Abdyldaev added. 'We have always been willing to strengthen and expand mutual cooperation with Iran in economic, trade and cultural areas, because Iran, as a big Muslim country, has a special status in the international arena,' he noted. Iranian ambassador, for his part, said that Tehran considers no restriction for expansion of ties with Bishkek. Pointing to numerous potential of the two countries in political, economic, and cultural areas, Najafi reiterated that Iran is ready to expand its relations with Kyrgyzstan. In the meantime, he said that the Iranian First Vice-President will attend the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), due to be held in Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek./end
