Iran's Stands Thoroughly Explained In OIC Summit: President

Tehran, Aug 16, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Thursday that he has properly explained Tehran's stances regarding major issues affecting the Islamic world during the latest extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Saudi Arabia. The President made the remarks while speaking to reporters upon his arrival from Mecca, Saudi Arabia, Thursday noon. He said that he conveyed Tehran's viewpoints very clearly to the participants of the OIC summit in Mecca which ended Wednesday night. Referring to the quick pace of events in the region, President Ahmadinejad said each of the attending states at the OIC summit had its own viewpoint and their final decision was made based on the conclusion of all exchanged views. The President stressed that Tehran deemed it necessary to take part in major regional gatherings to set forth and register its viewpoints at any official meetings./end
