Iraq to continue fighting Islamic State - foreign minister

MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. Iraq will continue fighting against Islamic State (IS) group, Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al Jaafari said on Thursday after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. "All actions of the coalition are directed at fighting terrorists. We will also continue fighting this evil with our forces and with the help of international community," Al Jaafari said. He stressed that Iraq does not cooperate in any way with third countries’ military in fight against Islamic State. "National armed forces are actively cooperating with armed groups from local tribes in the fight against Islamic State. This is made under strict observance of national armed forces," Al Jaafari said. "I would like to confirm that we are in no way cooperating with any ground forces from other countries," Lavrov said.
