Iraq Expert Warns Muslims About US, Zionist Regimeˈs Divisive Plots

Tehran, June 23, IRNA - An Iraq affairs expert on Monday warned Muslims about US and Zionist regimeˈs divisive plots. Speaking to IRNA, Alireza Ayati referred to the terrorist activities of Daesh (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) in Iraq and Syria, and noted that Washington and Tel-Aviv with the financial support of certain regional countries are doing their best to weaken the regional resistance movement against occupation forces of the Zionist regime. Ayati underlined that after Iraqˈs refusal to sign a security pact with the US, the White House provoked Takfiri groups to undermine Baghdadˈs authority. Washington and Tel Aviv plan to weaken both Sunni and Shia communities in the region including Iraq by provoking religious divisions, he added. Ayati believes that the Iraqi nation, government and the countryˈs tribes should work together united under the UN observation to thwart Daesh threats. Daesh is a Salafi organization affiliated to al-Qaeda founded in Iraq in 2004.
