Iraqi Armed Forces Should Strongly Thwart Menaces Of Terrorism

Tehran, July 21, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Sunday that Iraqi popular and armed forces should strongly thwart the menaces of terrorism in Iraq. Speaking to IRNA, Amir-Abdollahian said that the Zionists in complicity with certain governments are recruiting Takfiri groups and Saddam Hussein remnants in an attempt to turn Iraq into another Syria. He expressed surprise about the practice of the Jordanˈs government hosting seminars sponsored by Daesh terror group and said that that such a treason by the Jordanian government will not make Jordan government immune from collapse. He said security of the region is an integral issue and such a blunder of certain governments to give a chance to terrorists will put the entire region in danger. The Iranian official said Iraqi armed and popular forces will defend each acre of Iraq based on their duty and national determination. He said, ˈWe will continue with strong support for Iraq, including the Kurdish, Sunni and Shia Muslims, in campaign against terrorism.ˈ He called on the Iraqi political and religious leaders to go ahead with democratic process of governing system concurrent with campaign against terrorists. He referred to recent visit of the Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani to Iraq and said he held important and helpful meetings with Iraqi personalities, groups and religious dignitaries./end
