Iraqi MP denies reports on Iran's alleged air attacks on Daesh

Baghdad, Dec 7, IRNA - A senior member of Iraqi parliament has rejected reports on Iran's alleged air strikes against positions of the terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS), saying even if there was such an attack, it was definitely carried out with coordination of Iraqi government. Even though there was such an air stirke, it was performed to support the Iraqi government in its fight against terrorism and this should not bother anyone, member of Iraq's Alliance of National Reform Tawfiq al-Kaabi told IRNA. He referred to Tehran as the 'right hand and permanent aid to Baghdad.' 'When Iraq was in real trouble and needed a bullet, Americans rejected us but it was Iran that never left us alone and always sided with the people and government of Iraq,' said the Iraqi MP. He reiterated that the Islamic Republic has, so far, proved its good-neighboring and cordial relations with Iraq. Rejecting the latest reports by certain Western and Arab media about Iran's alleged air strikes against positions of the Daesh terrorists in Iraq, Kaabi said, if that had happened, no body should have been upset as Iran's presence in the fight against terrorism would benefit all even the Americans. Kaabi said the anti-Iran fabrications by certain groups are made as they could not tolerate Iran's positive role in the region. He stressed that the people of Iraq would be happy to have Iran by their side as they know Iran plays a key role in regional peace and stability./end
