IRGC Air Force Cdr : Washington’s Regional Bases Considered US Soil

Tehran, Sept 25, IRNA – Revolutionary Guards Air Force Commander said in IRI News Network TV’s ‘Two Half Hours’ program we consider Washington’s military bases in region as US soil. According to an IRNA night news reporter, Brigadier General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh reiterated at the program that was aired on the occasion of the Sacred Defense Week, marking the anniversary of the former Iraqi regime’s war against Iran, “We are not after war waging against the neighboring countries and we have no hard feelings towards them either.” Hajizadeh added, “Of course the Americans propagate Iranphobia aimed at solving their economic problems and selling more weapons.” Referring to the RQ170 plane at the disposal of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force, he said, “This plane is equipped with top secret espionage sensors, about whose capabilities only the Americans who are its builders and we are aware.” Hajizadeh added, “After the downfall of an American U2 espionage plane by the former soviet forces this was the second electronic scandal for the Americans.” US INCAPABLE OF ENCOUNTERING IRAN AT SEA In the second half of the program the Commander of the IRGC Navy reiterated, “Capabilities of the Americans are incapable of countering the naval capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi referred to the programmed US naval maneuver with 30 (US+30) foreign allied forces which was diminished to a US+5 maneuver on the coastal water of the Sea of Oman, calling it only a show. Addressing the countries that are after providing their required energy through the Persian Gulf, the Navy Commander said, “The Americans are not only incapable of providing security in the Persian Gulf, but are the main factor against security here.” Supreme Leader's Advisor and Top Military Assistant Brigadier General Yahya Rahim Safavi, too, said on Monday western powers are concerned about the emergence a new Islamic power in the world. He made the remarks in a cultural and political meeting of university lecturers who are members of Basij (volunteer forces) in the northwestern city of Ardebil. Safavi said western powers do their utmost to prevent the emergence of the new Islamic power. 'Capitalist and liberal world are hatching various military, cultural, economic and security plots against the Islamic world because they consider capital, science and technology as the foundation of their power while Imam Khomeini considered the power of the masses as the base for legitimacy of Muslim world,' he added. The top commander said the West considers Iran as being the heart of the Muslim world inspiring Islamic awakening and for this reason they have targeted this country. 'The US has tried to make the world a unipolar one since the collapse of ex-Soviet Union and to attain this goal it has started to attack the Islamic world,' Safavi said./end
