IRGC Commander: Iran foiled Plots In Different Eras

Karaj, Sept 29, IRNA – Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution’s Guards Corps Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said that since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, all plots of the enemies have been foiled due to the vigilance and resistance of Iranians. Major General Jafari made the above remarks on the sidelines of a military maneuver attended by 20,000 Basijis (volunteer forces) in Alborz province on Friday. “The enemies have come to realize that the military threats not only impede the progress of the Great Iranian nation, but they also make them more determined in paving the path that they have chosen,” he added. Referring the enemies’ soft war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Major General Jafari pointed out that the enemies have targeted the beliefs and faith of the people, especially the younger generation in their cultural onslaught in order to distract them from their attempt to achieve the noble goals of IR Iran’s Islamic revolution. “In this soft war insulting the Muslim sanctities is also on the top of agenda notwithstanding the fact that perpetrators of such crimes will face the fury of Muslims,” he added. Referring to the achievements of eight years of sacred defense (1980-88 Iran-Iraq war), IRGC chief commander pointed out that after 20 years since the end of 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, the importance of the achievements and greatness of that divine path becomes more apparent to the international community. “Alborz province is a region where its people and Basij forces acted very well in confronting the enemy during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war,” Major General Jafari noted./end
