IRGC Commander: Security Of Worldˈs Strategic Energy Reserves In Hands Of IRGC

Tehran, April 18, IRNA - Commander of the Islamic Revolutionˈs Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Wednesday that security of the worldˈs strategic energy reserves is in the hands of the IRGC. Addressing a group of IRGC personnel, he said the deterrent warnings of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution are real and based on Iranˈs defensive capabilities. Those who are now conducting military drills in the region only impose huge sums of money on their nations but are incapable of maintaining the security for transfer of energy from the Persian Gulf, he said. All scenarios and strategies adopted by domestic and foreign enemies are being monitored, he said. ˈOur defensive might as well as deterrent power cannot be halted,ˈ he said, adding that the enemies should bear in minds that they are now on the track of a costly and never-ending war. ˈIf they fail to change the current situation, this war of attrition will put heavy economic and political burden on their shoulders and the current situation of the US in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria is a good proof of such a claim,ˈ he said. IRGC is in full combat readiness and is ready to face all kinds of scenarios, he said, adding that Iran closely watching regional developments and has prepared itself to defend its Islamic Revolution and security./end
