IRIB Director Confers With Omani Officials

Tehran, Nov 24, IRNA – Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcastng Ezzatollah Zarghmai conferred with senior Omani political and cultural officials Saturday. In separate meetings with deputy prime minister for cabinet affairs, Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Saeed, Foreign Minister Yousuf bin Alawi, Omani Information Minister Abdul Munim bin Mansour al-Hassani and the Advisor for Cultural Affairs to Sultan Qaboos Abdelaziz al-Rawas, Zarghami commented on IRIB’s capabilities and said that IRIB is ready to make available its achievements and experience to the Kingdom. During the meetings, Omani officials referred to the ancient ties between the two countries and called for further development of bilateral ties between the two states. Criticizing the extremist moves in the region, Omani officials expressed condolences to Iranian nation and government on martyrdom of staff of Iranian Embassy in Beirut and cultural attaché Hojatoleslam Ebrahim Ansari. They emphasized the need for the Muslim nations to reinforce Muslim solidarity and strengthen their independence to counter the West’s avarice and domineering policies. Meanwhile, while touring Muscat Opera Hall, Zarghami said that the Iranian artists will visit the Sultanate to perform programs. /end
