IRNA Major Duty, To Prevent One-sided Information Flow

Tehran, Oct 29, IRNA – A senior official at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance said Monday that preventing the one-sided flow of information by foreign media was a major duty of the Islamic Republic News Agency. “As the official mouthpiece of Iran’s Islamic establishment, IRNA could play a very significant and effective role at the international level,” Deputy Minister for Press Affairs Mohammad Jafar Mohammadzadeh told IRNA on the sidelines of the 19th International Exhibition of the Press and News Agencies. The week-long exhibition began on Sunday with the participation of representatives of a large number of domestic and foreign press and news agencies. Attending IRNA stand at the exhibition, Mohammadzadeh said IRNA had an “acceptable” performance in confronting the one-sided flow of information in a world which was dominated by hegemonic powers that controlled the free and independent flow of information worldwide./end
