Islamic Awakening unique opportunity for Islamic resistance: Iranian security official

TEHRAN, March 15 (MNA) – The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said that the Islamic Awakening and the downfall of subservient dictators in the region have provided the Islamic resistance with a unique opportunity. SNSC Secretary Saeed Jalili made the remarks during a meeting with Mahmoud al-Zahar, the foreign minister in the government of elected Prime Minister of Palestinian people Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran on Wednesday. The Iranian official also said that the Islamic Republic supports the cause of the Palestinian people based on religious principles, adding that the era ahead will witness numerous victories for the Islamic ummah. Elsewhere in his remarks, Jalili highlighted the importance of the vigilance of the resistance movement against the plots of the Zionist regime’s supporters and elements. Zahar, who is a senior Hamas member, also said that the principles and strategies of the Islamic resistance of Palestine are fixed and unchanging, emphasizing that Hamas will vigorously pursue the cause of Palestine.
