Islamic Jihad: Palestinian Resistance Conditions Acceptance Before Any Truce

Beirut, July 27, IRNA –Secretary General of Palestinian Islamic Jihad elaborating on latest conditions in Gaza and battle field with Israel, stressed here Saturday that entire proposed conditions of Palestinian resistance must be met before acceptance of any kind of ceasefire. Ramadan Abdullah made the comment in a meeting in Beirut with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. ˈThanks to the blessings of the shed blood of the innocent Palestinian martyrs and the brave resistance of both the Palestinian groups and nation on confrontation with the brutal invasion of the Zionist regime, Palestine in on the verge of embracing another glorious victory today,ˈ said Abdullah. He meanwhile appreciated the comprehensive support of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khameneˈie, President Hassan Rouhani and his government, and the great Iranian nation for the Palestinians, their ideals, and their resistance movement. The Iranian deputy foreign minister is in Lebanon for consultations with top Lebanese officials and Palestinian groups on the ongoing regional developments, and especially the racist Zionist regimeˈs bestial invasion in Gaza. In his meeting with the Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Amir Abdollahian while praising the heroic resistance of the Palestinian nation and resistance groups in confrontation with the usurper Zionistsˈ atrocious invasion against Gaza Strip emphasized the continuous resolute support of Iran for them. He referred to the diplomatic moves and maneuvers of the Iranian government aimed at blocking the path for broader invasion of the Zionists and forwarding of food and medical aids for the defenseless Palestinian people through Egypt, as well as transfer of the injured Palestinians, especially women and children to Iranian hospitals for medical treatment. The Iranian deputy foreign minister for Arab and African Affairs referred to the desperate conditions with which the racist Zionist regime is entangled in its shameless confrontation with the power of resistance of the Gaza residents and resistance fighters. ˈThe victories achieved by the Palestinian resistance have disturbed all the calculations of the enemy,ˈ he added. Amir Abdollahian who arrived in Beirut on Saturday morning before meeting Ramadan Abdullah had meetings with the Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Tamam Salam, and Foreign Minister Jubran Basil on bilateral relations, regional developments, and especially the latest status in Syria, Iraq and Gaza. As the Israeli onslaught on Gaza continued for the last 16 days, more and more evidence of atrocities is being made public, which producing widespread expressions of outrage around the world. There have been numerous protests in India, Europe and North America, which though still relatively small, reflect the growth of popular understanding of the criminal character of the one-sided “war” against Gaza. This is not the first time that Israel is engaged in inhuman and criminal act. Since 2006, Israel’s illegal blockade, this is the third Israeli war on the people of Gaza. The ongoing bombardment of Gaza is the latest chapter in a 66-year history of violence against the Palestinian people. Israel was established through the seizure of Palestinian land and the expulsion of its people. While many Jewish people came to Israel to escape the horrific crimes committed against them in fascist Europe during World War II, the tragic outcome of the Zionist project is a state that commits crimes against the Palestinian people recalling many of the methods employed by the Nazis. Nearly a half-century has passed since the Six Day War of June 1967, in which Israel seized control of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Gaza, Syria’s Golan Heights and other Arab territories. The Zionist regime has been defined by the unending cycle of war, occupation and repression unleashed by this war. Tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed. Israel has made permanent the refugee status of millions of Palestinians and subjected generations of people to poverty and repression. This history has had terrible consequences for the people of the region./end
