Islamic Party Leader Flays Western Bias Toward Iran

Islamabad, July 29, IRNA – A senior member of Pakistan’s top Islamic party on Satuday said that western countries have to quit the policy of double standards towards the Islamic Republic of Iran. Talking to IRNA, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch welcomed continuation of talks between Iran and Group 5+1, however, he said that the dialogue should be result orientated. “Iran is an independent state and has every right to pursue peaceful nuclear program,” he said. The religious leader went to on to say that Iran has always taken a strong position regarding peaceful nuclear program. He noted that US and its allies are not accepting Iranian position and putting pressure on the Islamic Republic which is unjustified. Iran and the Group 5+1 held several rounds of talks in Istanbul, Baghdad and Moscow. “West has to realize that dialogue is the only option to settle issues with Iran,” viewed Liaqat Baloch. Jamaat-i-Islami leader praised steadfastness of people and government of Iran in resisting the western pressure. “Today Iran is progressing in all fields,” he added.
