Islamic Revolution Proves Muslims Can Counter Dictatorship: Afghan VP

Kabul, Feb 12, IRNA - First Vice President of Afghanistan Mohammad Qasim Fahim said on Sunday that the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran proved that Muslims can resist against dictatorship. Talking to IRNA, he congratulated Iran on the 33rd victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, and added that the Revolution taught Muslims how to establish a system based on justice and people's will. 'Today we are witnessing the spread of Islamic Awakening wave in the region,' Fahim said. He stressed that regional countries inspired by the Islamic Revolution revolted against the dictator rulers of their countries. Appreciating Iran's assistance to the Afghan nation in the past three decades and during the country's hard time, Fahim said Tehran and Kabul enjoy amicable and close cooperation in all areas./end
