Islamic Revolution Rooted Out Tyranny From Iran: Envoy

Islamabad, Feb 4, IRNA -- Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan Ali Reza Haghighian on Tuesday said that Islamic Revolution, under the guidance of Imam Khomeini, had successfully rooted out tyranny from Iran. He added that Islamic Revolution has been flourishing gloriously in Iran for the past 35 years thwarting a variety of conspiracies. The Ambassador made the remarks while inaugurating Iranian Cultural Week in connection with the 35th anniversary of Islamic Revolution at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA). He expressed gratitude to the government of Pakistan for cooperating with Iranian Embassy in organizing Iranian Cultural Week in Pakistan. Expressing his views, the Iranian envoy said that Islamic Revolution under the guidance of Imam Khomeini had successfully rooted out tyranny from Iran. Ali Reza Haghighian said that after the success of Islamic Revolution an Islamic government was established in Iran. He said that Islamic Revolution has defeated all kinds of conspiracies to weaken the foundations of the Islamic Republic. He added that agents of external elements tried their utmost to destabilize the Islamic Revolution but failed to do so. The Ambassador went on to say that Iran had also successfully faced the eight year imposed war and its leaders laid their lives for the stability of the Islamic Revolution. Haghighian said that Iran, under the leadership of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, has become self sufficient in all fields. He said that today Iran has become strong economically and politically. He said that Pakistan has great importance for Iran and Iranians feel proud on their ties with Pakistan. He was confident that Iran-Pakistan relationship would further strengthen. He prayed for the success and prosperity of Pakistan./end
