Israel anxious about Iran’s influence: Larijani

TEHRAN, Mar. 04 (MNA) – Iranian speaker of Parliament said if Israel and the US were willing to attack, they would receive the mighty and striking response of Iranian forces. Ali Larijani, speaking in Parliament session this morning, noted the speech of Netanyahu in AIPAC and American Congress and called the event a 'political show' that signifies the influence of Israel in American Congress. Larijani asserted that “hidden in whole speech of Netanyahu was the anxiety and fear this regime feels about Iran and its influence in the region despite all illegal sanctions.” “Netanyahu fears that achieving the nuclear deal increases Iran’s economic power and thus its power in the Middle East,” added he. Pointing to Netanyahu’s claims on Iran’s nuclear weapons, Iranian official said “the irony is that Israel itself at the moment possesses more than 200 nukes but tries to prevent Iran from advancing on something that does not exist!” Larijani, meanwhile, stressed that nuclear talks did start due to insist of the US and with mediator role of Oman, saying that “it is a great lie to declare that Iran is negotiating because of sanctions, in fact they are negotiating as they see the ineffectiveness of their sanctions.” However, he added “Iran is serious in negotiations and is continuing on the basis of protecting Iran’s peaceful nuclear technology and to preserve its international rights.” “The frame of negotiations has been clarified by Iran’s Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and the negotiation team is under the support of nation as they are considering the principles,” concluded Larijani.
