Israel Carries Out Aggression In Gaza With Open Support Of US: Indian Expert

New Delhi, July 21, IRNA – Strongly condemning the Israeli act of genocide in Gaza, an Indian expert Sunday questioned Israelˈs acts in Gaza saying they are tantamount to genocide that ˈhave open support of the US”. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Professor Basir Ahmed Khan, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University in Delhi said: “The death and destruction caused by Israel’s onslaught in Gaza is a clear-cut crime against humanity.ˈ ˈThe reported statements emerged from the White House by the US administration during the conflict, proves that the self-styled champion of human rights has supported Israel in violation of human rights,” he added. He, expressing outrage over Israeli act of genocide and extending solidarity with the Palestinians, castigated the World body and said that whatsoever the world is witnessing, in this tiny strip of Gaza, is the result of the silence of the UN, which has become an impotent tool in tackling the issues concerning with the Muslim world. “Israel’s despicable act of butchering innocent Palestinian people, including women and children is not new. They are facing it since 1967. The UN instead of despising it, is mutely watching. The deliberate silence of the UN for the Palestinian cause is more condemnable,” noted Indian academician. Proffessor Basir further noted that if the UN didn’t play an active role in stopping the genocide faced by the Palestinians, the Israeli inhuman act will engulf the whole region and soon will become a global crisis. “Mere lamenting over the death and destruction inflicted by the Israel upon Palestinians will not be going to stop it. What is required is that the OIC and the Arab League must play a pivotal role and should take concrete steps in resolving the issue,” suggested Indian expert. He went on to say: “In fact I advise that Iran, which is always standing in support of oppressed Palestine, should have direct discussions with Saudi Arabia and Turkey in finding out the lasting solution in support of Palestine.” “All together Arab and Persian Gulf countries must exert pressure on the world body and warn it to act. Failing with those efforts, they must pull out themselves from the UN membership,” stressed Basir. Dr. Khan, who is also the former Head of the Department of Islamic Studies in Jamia Hamdard University, also reminded the Indian government of its responsibilities and urged the Government to condemn the persecution of innocent Palestinians. Towing the line of former Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs, E Ahmed, Basir said that India has always been standing behind the Palestinian people. India has traditionally been supporting the Palestinian people right from the time of Mahatma Gandhi and Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. “India should condemn the alleged atrocities and the war crime being committed by the Israeli forces in Gaza,” he added. As reported, Israelˈs fiercest attack on Gaza, the most populated area in the Earth located in 360 sq. kms radius with 1.8 million people, has so far killed 435 people in which 112 were minors, 41 women and 25 elderly people. Over 2,500 people have been injured and almost 61,000 displaced seeking refuge in 49 UN Relief and Works Agency run centers.
