Israel committing barbarism by killing innocents: Iranian Diplomat

New Delhi, July 27, IRNA – Terming Gaza as the largest prison on this earth, an Iranian Diplomat in Mumbai said that Israel is committing barbarism by killing innocents and even bombarding hospitals and relief camps. Addressing a meet, organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra Branch, on International Quds Day, Masood Khaliqi, Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai said that Iran has announced it is ready to take the responsibility of wounded Palestinians and treat them in their hospital. Iran is not allowed to bring back the injured civilians for the treatment even the aid is not allowed to send, he said, while condemning the killing of innocent civilians by Israel, the TCN reported. He also regretted the silence of the Muslim World on the issue, and urged for unity among Muslim nations. Jamaate Islami Hind and Students Islamic Organization (SIO) - the SIO commemorated the Quds day all over Maharashtra, including Jalna, Parbhani, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Latur, etc, by holding agitation March and signature campaign. The protesters urged that Israel may be declared a ‘rogue’ state and that all Israeli made products should be boycotted. According to an expert, the death and destruction caused by Israel’s onslaught in Gaza is a clear-cut crime against humanity. The reported statements emerged from White House by the US administration during the conflict, proves that the self-styled champion of human rights has supported Israel in violation of human rights”. Expressing outrage over Israeli act of genocide and extending solidarity with the Palestinians, he castigated the World body and said that whatsoever the world is witnessing, in this tiny strip of Gaza, is the result of the silence of the UN, which has become an impotent tool in tackling the issues concerning with the Muslim world. He said that Israel’s despicable act of butchering innocent Palestinian people, including women and children is not new. They are facing it since 1967. The UN instead of despising it, mutely watching. The deliberate silence of the UN for the Palestinian cause is more condemnable. The International Quds Day, which was designated with the last Friday of Ramazan by the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979, was observed across India with socio-religious fervor. Tens of Thousands of concerned and aware citizens of India along with their Muslim brethren marked protest against the illegal occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque, a highly religious place for the Muslims across the globe, from where Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended to heavens, by the Israeli Regime. And also strongly condemn the continued Israeli aggression against Palestinian people. Chanting slogans, carrying banners against Zionism and imperialism, Muslims along with all peace-loving people together regardless of their race, religion or sect in of Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kashmir, Bhopal and Maharashtra, drawn attention of the world people to the continued illegal occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the Israeli aggression on innocent Palestinians. Their acts invited more and more people, to join and stand up against the injustices being perpetrated across the globe by the oppressors, and to raise the voice against Zionism and imperialism. In light of latest defiant Israeli genocide in Gaza for the last 18 days, that has killed more than 800 Palestinians, including women, children and elderly and more than 118,000 people are now sheltering in UN schools and people are running out of food, this year’s Int’l Quds Day had attained added significance. In national capital Delhi under the banner of Majlis Ulema-e-Hind, National Council of Shia Ulemas and several other Muslim organizations, a massive protest was held at Jantar Mantar in Central Delhi. The protestors were addressed by the religious scholars, academicians and MPs. They in one voice condemned the Israeli Regime’s illegal occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and continued Israeli aggression in Gaza. They in one voice said that their protest was ˈnot only for Muslims killed in Gaza but also against the cruel forces which are oppressing and using the oil-producing Arab countries. In his address Maulana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi said: “We demand that the Indian government change its foreign policy. We want the new government to fight for the rights of Palestinians and boycott relations with Israel”. Later-on a memorandum was presented to the Prime Minister of India and UN. The memorandum read: The innocent people are being butchered. Women, children and elderly were being mercilessly killed. What is going on is a flagrant violation of international laws. It is surprising that though the world has become aware of the genocide being carried out by Israeli forces all the countries of the world remain mute spectators to the barbaric acts. At this situation, we have put forth our core issues and concerns in this memorandum, which are as follows: Israeli regime should be pressurize to obey international laws and should vacate the sacred monument; stop Israel from the acts of demolishing Palestinian homes and evicting forcefully the Arab inhabitants of Al-Quds; strongly condemn the Israeli aggression against Palestinian people; take steps for a democratic and peaceful way of resolving the conflict; support the people of Palestine in their struggle for self determination and self defense; condemn the western nations who support the Palestinian genocide./end
