Italian news portal highlights trilateral Nakhchivan meeting of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian defence ministers

Rome, August 21 (AzerTAc). Italian Notizie Geopolitiche news website has posted an article highlighting a recent trilateral meeting between the Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian defense ministers in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The article says the parties agreed to boost their military cooperation through conducting joint exercises, workshops and conferences. “The three ministers agreed that meetings in a trilateral format should be held on a regular basis.” “They also agreed that necessary steps should be taken to ensure peace, stability and sustainable development in the South Caucasus,” the news portal says. The article touches upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, describing it as “the biggest threat to stability and peace in the South Caucasus”. “Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions have been under Armenian occupation for more than 20 years.” “Although the UN Security Council adopted four resolutions demanding an unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan, official Yerevan continues to disrespect these resolutions,” the article says.
