Italian Senator: The presence of Armenian army in Azerbaijani territories is the main reason behind growing tension

Rome, July 8, AZERTAC “I have many times stated that the illegal presence of the Armenian army in the occupied Azerbaijani territories is the main reason behind the growing tension and incidents on the line of contact,” chairman of the Italy-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, Senator Sergio Divina told Agenzia Nova agency and L’Opinione newspaper. He condemned Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijanis in the village of Alkhanli, which resulted in the death of two civilians, including a toddler. “I was terrified by the images of the dead bodies of that little girl and her grandmother. This event should be largely covered in the press. This is nothing but an act of barbarism,” Senator Divina said. He noted that Armenia regularly attacks Azerbaijani civilians and their property. “This is a gross violation of international humanitarian law.
