Jaafari Receives An Invitation From His Turkish Counterpart To Attend An Emergency Meeting Of The ICC In Istanbul On Palestine

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) - Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari received an invitation from his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to attend an emergency meeting of the Islamic Cooperation Council on Palestine to be held in Istanbul on Friday. "Jaafari received a telephone call from his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, during which he discussed the developments in the Palestinian arena and the crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people," a foreign ministry statement said. The statement added that: " Çavuşoğlu invited Jaafari to attend the emergency meeting of the Islamic Cooperation Council in Istanbul to be held on Friday, stressing the importance of Iraq's participation in the meetings and contribute to finding steps that will stop Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people." The Turkish minister also congratulated Jaafari on the success of the election season in Iraq, wishing Iraq more security and stability.
