Jalili, Ashton To Meet In Istanbul Weds

Ankara, May 15, IRNA – Secretary of Iranˈs Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili and European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton are to meet in Istanbul Wednesday. The meeting will be held at Iranˈs Consulate General in the Turkish city of Istanbul. The two are to continue talks on Iranˈs peaceful nuclear program. Jalili, Iranˈs top nuclear negotiator, is scheduled to attend a press conference a day after negotiations to brief media and reporters on the outcomes of bilateral talks with Ms Ashton. After Almaty 2 talks in Kazakhstan, EU officials were supposed to confer with the foreign ministers of the Group 5+1- US, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany- within few days to give due response to Iranˈs proposal. But, after about a month after the second round of talks in Almaty, Iran has received no response. Iran expects to receive such a response from the other side during the Wednesday meeting./end
