Jalili, Ashton Refer To Talks As Useful

Istanbul, May 16, IRNA – Secretary of Iranˈs Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili and European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton said Wednesday their talks were useful. The two made the remarks while speaking to reporters after a four-hour meeting which was held at Iranˈs Consulate General in Istanbul. The two also stressed the need to continue their negotiations in the future. Jalili, Iranˈs top nuclear negotiator, said he and Ms Ashton agreed on having a meeting again to close their ranks on discussed issues. As for the date of the next round of their talks, Jalili said it would be discussed soon. Meanwhile, the EU foreign policy chief said that the two had ˈuseful discussionˈ but added that she could not refer to it as talks. ˈWe talked about the proposals we had put forward and we will now reflect on how to go on to the next stage of the process.
