Jalili-Ashton Talks Start In Istanbul

Istanbul, May 16, IRNA – Secretary of Iranˈs Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili and European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton started negotiation on Iranˈs nuclear program here in Istanbul on Wednesday evening. The venue of the meeting is Iranˈs General Consulate building in Istanbul. Ashton is to present answers of the Group 5+1 to Iranˈs proposals in Almaty-2 meeting. Upon his arrival in Istanbul on Wednesday morning, Jalili told reporters that Iranˈs proposals to Group 5+1 defends Iranˈs rights upon international law and regulations. He added that members of G 5+1 have accepted to consider Iranˈs proposals and make decisions on it in Almaty-2 meeting ˈOf course, it takes more than a few days and 40 days have passed now, but we do not want to prejudge and are waiting for their response,ˈ said Jalili./end
