Jalili: Iran Offering Specific Proposals To Defend Its Rights

Ankara, May 15, IRNA – Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili said that Iran is offering specific proposals based on the international laws and regulations to the 5+1 to defend its rights. Jalili made the remarks upon arrival here Wednesday morning to take part in talks with the European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton who also represents the 5+1 in the talks. He said though the 5+1 accepted during the Almaty-2 talks to consider Iran’s proposals just in a few days, they have not yet offered any response to Tehran despite the lapse of 40 days. However, he added, any kind of pre-suppositions should be avoided and their final say has to be heard. The meeting between Jalili and Ashton will be held at Iran’s Consulate General in Istanbul. The two are to continue talks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program. Jalili is scheduled to attend a press conference a day after negotiations to brief media on the outcome of bilateral talks with Ms Ashton./end
