Jalili: Tehran-Baku Ties Will Remain Unaffected

Tehran, March 14, IRNA – Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili in a meeting with visiting Azeri Defense Minister Safare Abiov said two countries should not let any issue affect their ties. Jalili underlined that the security of the two countries are intertwined. The Azeri defense minister, for his part, described Islam as a factor of unity and dignity of the two nations. He said Azerbaijan will not allow other countries to use its territory to launch attacks on neighboring Iran. Referring to the two countries' cultural, historical and religious commonalities, Abiov called for enhanced mutual cooperation. The Azeri defense minister heading a high ranking military delegation arrived in Tehran on Monday on a two-day visit./end
