Japan appoints new ambassador to Russia

TOKYO, November 13. /TASS/. Toyohisa Kozuki has been appointed as Japan’s new ambassador to Russia, the country’s government has said in a decree that comes into force on November 19. Kozuki, 59, previously served as vice minister and led the secretariat of the Japanese Foreign Ministry. Until 2014, Kozuki was deputy director general of the European department of the ministry and helped the administration of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to build ties with Russia. He will replace Tikahito Haradu, who has been Japan’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Russia since March 2011. Read more
