Japan Mulls Summit with Russia at G-20 Meet

Moscow, Nov. 12 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese government is considering holding a summit meeting with Russia on the sidelines of a meeting of leaders from the Group of 20 major economies in Antalya, Turkey, on Sunday and Monday, Japanese government sources said Thursday. A meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Russian President Vladimir Putin was previously expected to take place during a two-day summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum set to start in Manila Wednesday. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, instead of Putin, will represent Russia at the APEC summit, according to Russia's Itar-TASS news agency.
