Japan, Turkey to Hold EPA Talks in Tokyo from Mon.

Tokyo, Sept. 1 (Jiji Press)--Japan and Turkey will hold the third round of negotiations on concluding a bilateral economic partnership agreement for free trade in Tokyo for four days from Monday, the Japanese government said Tuesday. Japan will be represented by Toshiro Suzuki, ambassador for trade and economic affairs at the Foreign Ministry. At the upcoming talks, the two countries will discuss such fields as investment and intellectual property protection, in addition to tariff reduction. Tokyo and Ankara launched their EPA talks in December. Japan hopes to increase exports of industrial goods, such as automobiles and steel products, while Turkey aims to expand those of fishery products and textiles. END
