Japan Urged to Make Apology and Reparation for Its Past Crimes

Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Recently the Japanese authorities, answering the question put by the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women over the sexual slavery in the past, claimed that "there is no evidence proving the coercion employed by the army and government bodies in drafting comfort women in the results of the wholesale probe into the truth." Rodong Sinmun Friday says in a commentary this is sheer sophism revealing once again the despicable nature and moral vulgarity of Japs. Citing facts to prove the monstrous crimes the Japanese imperialists committed after forcing so many women into sexual slavery, it goes on to say: All the facts show that the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army was the group rape committed by Japan in a systematic and organized manner and unprecedented abuse of women's rights and hideous unethical crimes. What matters is that the shameless acts of the present government of Japan are not confined to denying history. Lurking behind its actions is its unlimited ambition to recover from its past defeat and launch reinvasion. Japan's increased frenzy to launch reinvasion in denial of its past crimes would only precipitate its bitter defeat and ruin. -0-
