Japan, U.S., S. Korea Officials to Meet on N. Korea

Washington, Jan. 13 (Jiji Press)--Sung Kim, U.S. special representative for North Korea policy, said Tuesday that the chief representatives of the United States, Japan and South Korea in the so-called six-party talks on Pyongyang's nuclear program will hold a meeting in Tokyo later this month. He revealed the plan at a hearing of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs. The three chief representatives are Kim, Junichi Ihara, director-general of the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, and Hwang Joon-kook, South Korea's special envoy for Korean Peninsula affairs.
