Japan, U.S. Security Advisers Agree on Cooperation

Tokyo, Jan. 22 (Jiji Press)--Shotaro Yachi, head of the secretariat of Japan's National Security Council, and Michael Flynn, U.S. President Donald Trump's national security adviser, agreed on their close cooperation in telephone talks on Sunday. Flynn, who proposed the talks, told Yachi that Japan is an important ally and that he hopes to keep exchanging opinions and continuing close cooperation. In reply, Yachi said he expects to cooperate with Flynn. Flynn also said Trump looks forward to meeting and exchanging views with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. END
