Japanese air self defence force chief visits Vietnam

Hanoi, May 26 (VNA) - The air defence forces of Vietnam and Japan should forge closer links, Senior Lieutenant General, Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army suggested during his reception for the Chief of Staff of Japan’s Air Self-Defence Force, General Harukazu Saito in Hanoi on May 25. Cooperation can be enhanced through the exchange of delegations at all levels and sharing experiences in aviation safety, disaster response, and rescue, Ty said. The Vietnamese officer said the current visit to Vietnam by General Harukazu Saito contributed to deepening the friendship, cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between the two countries’ air forces and peoples, as well as strengthening the bilateral strategic partnership. Over the last 42 years, since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral cooperation has been grown extensively, Ty said. He appreciated the results of the talks held between General Harukazu Saito and the Commander of Vietnam’s Air Defence-Air Force, avowing that the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence would continue to support and create favourable conditions for the two countries’ air forces to implement bilateral agreements. For his part, General Harukazu Saito said his country’s air self-defence force would work closely with its Vietnamese counterpart to effectively implement the agreements signed between the two sides./.
