JCPOA intl. victory of diplomacy

TEHRAN, Feb. 09 (MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that the success in nuclear negotiations and the resulting JCPOA was a great international victory for diplomacy. Speaking on the phone to the Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili on Monday, President Rouhani called for the expansion of Tehran-Tbilisi economic and cultural ties, saying that the cooperation must be strengthened in favor of national interests of both nations. Pointing to the activation of Iran-Georgia joint economic commission, Rouhani underlined the importance of potentials and opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. He also welcomed the implementation of agreements already signed, saying the removal of visa requirements can help further Tehran-Tbilisi cooperation. Rouhani said that Georgia can be the corridor for Iran's transactions with the Black Sea littoral states, adding, “common geographical location and extensive facilities, have provided rich opportunities for multilateral cooperation between Iran and Georgia." Georgian premier, for his part, congratulated Rouhani on the official implementation of JCPOA and voiced his country's readiness to open a new chapter in relations with Iran. “Georgia is prepared to enhace relations with Iran in all fields, including economic and cultural cooperation,” he added. Kvirikashvili once again invited President Rouhani to pay a visit to Tbilisi.
