Jean-Francois Mancel makes statement on anniversary of Shusha occupation

Paris, May 6, AZERTAC President of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan in France, member of the French National Assembly Jean-Francois Mancel has made a statement on the anniversary of the occupation of the Azerbaijani city of Shusha by the Armenian military units. Mancel said that although May 8 is marked in Europe as victory over Fascism, friends of Azerbaijan remember this date as the day when the city of Shusha was occupied by the Armenian military units in 1992. Mancel described Shusha as the cradle of Azerbaijani music, especially, mugham. He said the Armenian military units killed 480 people and injured 600 during the Shusha occupation. They destroyed schools, historic, religious and cultural monuments, as well as the whole of Azerbaijan`s cultural legacy there, Mancel said in his statement.
