Joint Conference Declares for Implementing Tasks Set forth at 7th WPK Congress

Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- The joint conference of officials of the party, state and economic and armed forces organs was held in Pyongyang from May 26 to 28 to thoroughly carry out the tasks set forth at the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). Premier Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, made a report. He recalled that the 7th WPK Congress reviewed the proud victories and successes, made in socialist construction, and set forth the new strategy for economic development to consolidate the state material and technological foundation and bring about a drastic turn in improving the standard of people's living by giving spurs to the building of an economic giant. He raised goals on major indices to be attained during the implementation of the five-year strategy and referred to the issues to be settled by all fields of building the economic power. Inter-sector meetings of the national economy were held. Pak Pong Ju concluded the conference. He called on all the officials to devotedly carry out the decision of the congress by making sure that all the issues discussed at the conference are successfully put into practice. The 200-day campaign of loyalty was declared at the conference to make a breakthrough in implementing the five-year strategy for the state economic development set forth at the Sixth Congress of the WPK. -0-
