Jordanian FM calls for expansion of ties with Iran

Beirut, Dec 18, IRNA - Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh called for expansion of all-out ties with Iran on Wednesday. Judeh made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Jordan Mojtaba Ferdowsi-Pour in Amman. He also appreciated two countries' joint stances on vital regional developments. Ferdowsi-pour, for his part, referred to the latest achievements of President Hassan Rouhani's government in the field of diplomacy, the outcome of the recent meeting between Iran and the P5+1 (Russia, France, Britain, the US, China and Germany) in particular. The diplomat also underlined the need for Iran-Jordan cooperation and convergence aimed at tackling terrorist groups including Daesh Takfiris. Meanwhile, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Danesh-Yazdi held talks with his Jordanian counterpart Tayseer Bani Yaseen on issues of mutual interests as well as the latest regional and international developments. During the meeting, Danesh-Yazdi also submitted Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif's message for his Jordanian counterpart. The message was about the outcome of the recent Iran-P5+1 meeting. /end
