Judiciary chief heads to Iraq to sign legal deals

TEHRAN, Oct.30 (MNA) – Head of the Judiciary has departed for Iraq, along with an entourage of judiciary high-ranking officials. Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani’s delegation includes Mostafa Pourmohammadi, Minister of Justice, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, deputy-FM, Mohammad Jafar Montazeri, the Attorney-General, Ebrahim Amini, Judiciary deputy for Human Resources, and Mohammad Javad Ardeshir Larijani, head of the Supreme Council of Human Rights . On Saturday morning, Amoli Larijani briefly addressed the press when he said 4 legal agreements were on agenda to be signed with Iraqi judiciary authorities. “The Islamic Republic of Iran sees Iraq as a brother country and a neighbor, and naturally, we prefer that the country remains independent and stable; however, terrorism and extremism should be addressed through a coordinated effort, to which Iran welcomes contribution,” he added. “The visit to Baghdad is an official invitation and we will discuss diverse issues as extradition of convicts and prisoner swap" said he.
