Karzai urges U.S. to cooperate with Russia, China on Afghanistan’s security

MOSCOW, June 25. /TASS/. Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has said the United States and NATO should seek cooperation with Russia and China in establishing security and stability in his country. "The U.S. and NATO presence in Afghanistan had visible results, the situation in the country is much more stable than, for example, in 2001," he said. "However, their military involvement has not brought security to the people of Afghanistan, they continue to die and lose their property," the former Afghan President said. "The United States and its allies must speak openly about the problems they encounter." "If they have failures, they must seek help from such countries as Russia and China," he added. "If they [the United States and NATO] believe that this is not a failure, why then extremists’ attacks continue? The time has come for a frank conversation about the difficulties," Karzai noted.
